Why I built the Torpedo
I was wrong
about lead.
A note from Hao
I built my tungsten jigs around getting down to the fish. Then tungsten prices climbed, and keeping that approach affordable got harder.
So I went back to the shape. A compact, squid-profile body. Enough weight for a deep night drop. The same attention to the hooks I’d trust on my own rod.
The Torpedo is lead. It is not as dense as tungsten, and no jig makes current disappear. It gives you another way to fish the night bite, at a price I’m comfortable putting my name on.
Then I took it fishing. The scratches tell the next part.

Do I really need both weights?
The point is having another option when conditions change. Start with the 300g for calmer, shallower marks; reach for the 400g when you need more weight. If you already have one covered, the singles are available below.
Will this stay vertical in any current?
No jig can promise that. The Torpedo’s narrow profile is designed for the drop, and the 400g gives you a heavier option. Drift, depth and your line all matter. Watch your angle and adjust with the crew.
Are the hooks included?
Yes. Both jigs include 6/0 BKK assist hooks and split rings. The optional Dragon Claw set is extra; you do not need to add it to receive rigged jigs.
Is this tungsten?
No. Both Torpedoes are lead. They are a more accessible option with their own squid profile. They are not identical in density or performance to the tungsten line.
When will my Duo arrive?

What setup does Hao fish?
For deep tuna jigging, Hao’s stated setup is 100 lb braid with a 200 lb fluorocarbon bite leader. Match your rod, reel and rigging to the trip and the crew’s advice.
