The real difference: density, not marketing
Tungsten is roughly 70% denser than lead. At the same weight, that means a smaller, tighter profile — our tungsten jigs run about 36% smaller than a lead jig at the same gram count. Smaller profile means less water resistance on the drop, which means it sinks faster and holds a straighter line in current. That's the entire pitch. It's not "premium" in some vague sense — it's a physics advantage you can measure.
The tradeoff is cost. Tungsten got a lot more expensive in 2026, and that cost shows up in the price of a tungsten jig. Lead is the affordable option — the question is whether a lead jig can solve the problem tungsten density solves for free: staying vertical instead of drifting sideways on the drop (anglers call this "scoping out"). How deep should your jig sink? The gram-per-foot rule
Most anglers don't think about weight and depth as directly connected, but the rule of thumb is close to 1:1 — about a gram per foot. A 250g jig is dialed for roughly 100–250 ft. A 350g jig holds 150–400 ft. A
